Having grown up on a farm, I think the term entrepreneurship defines farmers. I would challenge anybody to find a career or job that takes more risk, more of a controlled risk, to perform.

I'm a risk taker. But I understand that what works in agriculture can work in the area of a tech start up.

Mobile has given us an opportunity to empower people who go out and work eight hours a day in some of these complex environments and show that that hey, you guys can take an idea, build a team, and change the way the industry uses technology.

The moment that I remove myself from the farm, I think is the moment that the innovative and the genuine aspect of what we're doing will go away.

I think in order to be a startup girl, or startup guy, for that matter, it requires the lack of any of sleep. That's step number one. Step number two is love of caffeine. And step number three is probably just an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

There's a part of me that sort of feels good about having an idea and putting the pieces in place from step one, when there is literally nothing, and then step by step working to bring that idea to life.

What makes it so exhilarating to me is the fact that there's unlimited possibility - you really have to figure it out on your own.

I want to make a change. I want to do something that really helps a lot of people. What I'd love is for my kid, and for the kids in the generations coming up, to not think that it's inevitable that they're going to have to sit in traffic in a car, and work in a cubicle, and hate their boss and count the days 'til they retire. I want them to think that that's absurd. I want them to think that it's crazy that people ever thought that that was just the normal way of doing things.

And that involves taking a risk. And if that means signing a big lease, and taking on a bunch of debt, and — you know, putting my head down and doing a lot of work, now's the time to do it.

Co-working represents a shift in the way that we think about work, and the role that work plays in our lives, and how we approach it. And it's indicative of a very big shift in the way that we think about how we live our lives in general.
