For anyone doing research on the [greatly exaggerated] risks of alternative TLDs such as .CO and/or new TLDs, I suggest this very thorough analysis on the subject of typosquatting on .COM. The report is good stuff by the folks at SOPHOS.

My take? If someone actually wanted to minimize typosquatting / cybersquatting, follow the money...
"The main player in managing page content for typosquat domains, including the "related search" links on typosquat pages, is Google's DoubleClick subsidiary."

I'll have to check this article out later. Looks like it is chock full of solid information. I love gTLDs butI still don't know how I feel about alternative TLDs. I would hate to see this industry reach a saturation point. I chose to use a .co domain for my personal blog and have been very happy with the outcome.
