So the .CO Founders Program was announced in mid-March and we will be accepting applications through mid-June.  Since the program launched, we have had some awesome .CO Founder sites go live.  It's really very exciting to start seeing the sites sprouting up!  And even better, the number of quality applications we are receiving every day has been increasing exponentially - as of now, there are about 80 in the pool under review -- and dozens coming in weekly!

Over the coming weeks I'll be introducing you to a variety of different .CO Founders.  Let me start by telling you about our very first one -- Transitions Optical.  

Transitions Optical is the world-renowned photochromatic eyeglass lens manufacturer.  You know, they're the guys (and gals) who make the lenses that are clear indoors and at night -- but that magically darken as you step out into the sunlight.  A joint venture of PPG Industries, Inc. and Essilor International,  Transitions first commercialized the plastic photochromic lens in 1990 and today provides the lenses to optical manufacturers worldwide.

At the end of March, Transitions launched a huge eye care education campaign called "Get Sighted" at the url: www.GetSighted.co. GetSighted.co features Erik Estrada, famous for his 1970s television show “CHiPs,” as an eye care advocate with Transitions Optical, riding around on his motorcycle issuing “Sightations” to people who are not properly protecting their eyes.  The campaign kicked off with this year’s Transitions Championship, Tampa Bay’s PGA TOUR® event, and will continue in additional venues throughout the country. There's also a fun online application you can use right now to send sightations to your own friends at www.GetSighted.co.

While at the PGA event, I got "sighted" by Estrada for "Aggravated Visual Assault" for failing to wear protective sunglasses in the face of the day's glaring sun -- exposing my eyes to harmful UVA and UVB rays!   It was actually pretty hysterical -- and the crowd went mad for Estrada -- who, as it turns out, is quite the charismatic fellow!  

So Transitions Optical made history as our very first .CO Founder --  And here's what else is exciting… thanks to Transitions -- I scored a big, fat kiss from my childhood celebrity crush, Eric Estrada, whose posters were plastered all over my bedroom walls when I was 10!
